Building trust in teams

There may be no more important team building activity a team engages in than build trust. We love to work with teams who decide to pause their day to day activities for sufficient time to directly address the critical issue of trust.

We begin every trust (or team) building activity by clarifying the team purpose. Where that has not been previously determined, we provide a team focus and alignment session facilitation so that the team can create the purpose. In some cases, roles within the team may also need to be clarified.

In the context of their agreements about purpose and role, we proceed with the required activities to build trust within the team. The application of psychometric tools like Team Management Index, DiSC or MBTI or Vanessa Hall’s breakthrough model for building trust in teams are all options our clients have found powerful.

Where appropriate, we also draw on our network of professionals to provide you with new and unusual team building experiences that are professionally debriefed and linked to current business challenges.

Whatever the activity, your team will engage in conversations with one other that will be unlike any they have had before. Those conversations may bring the pleasure of understanding self and other or the temporary discomfort of addressing previously held "undiscussables".

The result will be more trust in your team. At the end of the consultation, you will not only have a team that experiences a great level of trust with each other but clear action plans that will build trust going into the future.

When I first heard about the trust model, I was a little skeptical about how relevant it would be in the context of a  large corporation.  However, it proved to be an invaluable tool for strengthening our relationship with one of our largest and most valuable clients.
